So it looks like the word coming back is that the production team is only planning on that 5 hour rune as compensation, even if people paid for runes just before the server nightmare started. I find it rather reprehensible that they would give everyone a rune, including players that don't ever buy anything (and full afk trains lol), but say f$ck you to the ones that do pay. I wouldn't think they have to do a total 1:1 or a cash refund, but it would seem right to give a certain portion of the item(s) back. Like maybe fifteen 1 hour runes or three 5 hour ones. Something. I'd post the rather scathing messages I sent out about this, but they'll just delete em.

However, while I agree with you both - even if I haven't paid for anything (I'm not interested in agathions nor XP runes...) - I'm not positive that NCsoft would lend an ear to the customers, so my mindset is something like "better a 5-hours rune than nothing", and I believe that crying in maintenance threads doesn't help at all in obtaining better compensations.

Probably because NCSoft USA is currently run by 3 interns and a jaded Community Manager. It's always silly to fire EVERYBODY and then offload the work offsite. It's like USA Company Call centers. You know he isn't American, because he speaks an American Accent with an Indian Accent, which just adds to, usually, an already irate Customer. Something gets lost in translation along the way.

Well, it's cool they are trying to apologize for the **** up to the entire server, but by just blowing off the paying segment of the population it's sort of a big FU.
I like the death penalty removal mechanic. Losing xp to wartags in the 1-way-yet-2-way war system really hamstrings the smaller clans in terms of progression. It will be nice to pvp without obsessing over what I might lose if I fail to target fast enough or if the zone doesn't load a wartag in time for me to see him/her.
The answer to afk mentors and mentees is re-work the mentoring system. Let the mentees have all of the mentor buffs except the boost exp (or lower it to 50/100% instead of 200%) while the mentor is offline and bonus exp ON when mentor logs in (or the other way around - leave only the bonus exp for them and let them use the adventure helper buffs while mentor is off; for me this is the better choice). I don't wanna believe that chars lvl 90+ QQ over 10% bonus exp... That way mentees will learn something about playing their class, mentors will log off and not making pointless shops in the towns and every1 will be happy

That wouldn't fix the system. I could care less about the buffs. It's all about the 200% exp bonus.

I used to be able to play 5-10 hours a session that back in 1999 playing everquest..
but working full time, marriage, kids, dogs, taking care of the house, cooking meals, husbands wanting sex....

Don't be a fool. They don't owe you 5 years worth of subscription. MAX they "owe" you is one month for the period of the event, and even then your case is dubious since there was no subscriptions then lol.
the free teleports dont include the extremely pricey 85+ teleports. Why? Too much work? You could have manually spawned the newsinformer npc to give us those ports for free instead but you won't even raise a finger for us. Bad form ncsoft, bad form.

It is a good thing we aren't paying to access their servers, I can't even imagine the hundreds upon thousands of complaints that would be found on these forums. This was brilliant if you ask me, we are not paying for service so they can cut cost on quality of service and make huge profits on frivolous in game junk. No need to increase staffing, just over work them like they are actually grinding away in L2.

Think what Nc need to do is upgrade the servers, the server transfers don't work for many, there is people with a lot of work placed on the server they play not to mention clans, what NC expect a player decide to give up on almost everything he got to transfer to a new place with the equipped gear only?
Or maybe a existing clan for years with all the skills, drops and people to just disband and went in a new server to feel it like a regression to their 1st day?
Servers need a urgent increase on capacity, if NC can't clear RMT advertisers and Third Part Users a server increase is a must!

Its just getting ridiculous now, no answer from NCS since they started this thread... its been weeks now of 45 minute login attempts and then unplayable lag when you do finally get in.. Good old school loyal players have started to finally get fed up with the complete lack of care and total comtempt from NCS regarding these issues and leave the game..

no and there is no way in hell i would contemplate buying anything from L2 store without the guarantee i could use them. IF there was a two tier system where we had F2P and VIP accounts, i would go back to paying a subscription if it meant i could actually log in and play.. and the longer it goes on like it is, the more old players will leave, those being the players that would more likely pay a sub to play if it guaranteed actually being able to log in and play..hell thats no difference to what we had been doing for years...

I had never played Lineage II until 28 November 2011. I started that night because I knew that it was about to go completely f2p and I wanted to see if it would be a good choice for myself, family and friends, all of us searching for the game.
Chronos was empty but the small community seemed to be friendly enough. There were no adena sellers or bots that I saw. With respect to the game itself, I felt that it was not only beautifully done, but it was just different enough to appeal to a lot of people. While most of the players that I know live for pvp, I didn't get anywhere near the level to experience that but still, I could see the potential for the great pvp which I'd read about.
Based on those impressions, in addition to recommending it to family, I posted an announcement on a gaming forum that hosts roughly 2000 active players. Then, within days of going f2p, the atmosphere changed with adena sellers dominating the landscape, making the chat module pretty useless, no matter how many names you chose to blacklist. Centralized as they are, I guess everyone could live with that though.
As new ones became available, I moved from server to server, trying to find somewhere to play and learn the game, without unbelievable lag due to the sheer number of players congesting the servers, including more and more bots. The last time that I logged into the game, for a very brief disappointing, lag fest session, was December 14th.
Adena sellers, bots and some recent security issues aside, last night I tried to log in anyway, nearly continuously, for more than an hour. I finally gave up, thinking that for sure I'd be able to get in today after maintenance. As soon as Chronos came up, early at 12:25 est, I started to log in. I kept it up for just over an hour without success.
I've played lots of games, participated in many CB's and OB's, but never have I seen a game so completely overrun, as to not be able to log into it.
I sincerely wish NC Soft and all of the legit players, especially all of you who have paid and played for so many years, the best of luck. I really hope you get your game back. At this rate, I don't think I'm ever going to find out if Lineage II was going to be the game and I know I'm not alone.

Now I ask all of you complainers about lag, I play with an under minimal req computer, with bad connection, WHAT THE HELL U HAVE, FRED FLINSTONES PC AND CONNECTION THRU ROCKS ?

You have no idea how sick and tired I am of people whining about the destruction R scrolls in the shop. You can either buy it or not buy it. Some of us paid out accounts for a year subscription and our refund was Ncoins,we didn't get a choice. I personally didn't purchase them seeing everything in those packages you can't trade. I like being able to just buy one item that I'm intending to use on the spot over a whole package with one thing I want. If it really bothered you then you'd have bought them too to be more competitive then.
Those Destruction scrolls ain't all that great, no need to freak out over the imbalance... not like we see 100 +15 weapons now. 6000 characters on each server and what... a hand full of these weapons? The balance power wasn't rocked to any particular side to be honest, I bet you haven't even been hit with one of these over enchanted weapons.
I recently purchased some in-game XP Runes. On two occasions now I was either given no product or the wrong product. For some reason one of the support tickets sent me to this thread so here I am, telling the forum about my problem.
I doubt this will do anything for me, but now you guys know. Don't trust the in-game store, and if you get ripped off don't expect any sort of compensation. Your money is as good as gone.
