Point is that players that purchased 7 days exp rune couldnt log for most of time and they waste 1200 nc coins , 5h pack = 240 nccoins so its not even 1/2 of price they lost .

For the love of God don't do any more "special server settings"! Can we just have some NORMAL server activity before it's bogged down with people botting events? The servers are maxed out enough.
ETA: No more cocktails they are useless junk for me, 5 hour runes are hardly compensation for the amount of time the server hasn't worked correctly. I'd say you'd need to let people claim a free rune twice a day for 2 weeks to come close.

It seems like since the update, all NCwest has been doing is ignoring the major and masking them with 'special' extras that are only adding to the poor state of the current server situation.

Ok, I am not going to lie, I expect alot of rage over this. Not about server events and the free stuff for the server issues, people will be excited about this, and we should be, after all it is free. But what will cause so much rage, and I can understand this rage because I am also in that boat, is the fact there is no mention about something for those of us that bought runes that we could not effectively use the way we understood we could when we bought them due to server issues.
I my case I am on Bratz, we had no server issues other than cruma 2 acting up. The day before maitence cruma 2 was back up again, fixed. So unable to find a menetor I spent the 1200 on a 7 day nevit's rune to lvl faster. This was the day before maitence, we had no problems, no ss lag, no problems at all. After maitence the ss lag made it almost impossible to grind. The need kill speed was gone, and the mobs still hit just as hard and had more time to kill us since we could barely kill them half as fast as before. Server issues took 6 days if you call ss lag unplayable, or 3 days if you call ss lag half playable. Even so, I want to know what those of us that spent money on the game and were unable to use effectivly use our timed items due to game issue that did not exist at the time of purchase.
It is great that you are giving everyone those things, it is a great thing don't get me wrong, but the thing everyone gets that evenif you did not spend anything and lost no money due to server issues. So what about those of us that had our money wasted due to server issues, what about us?

There's enough problems with server transfers. You should make a character there if you want it that bad.

Besides the 50% rune 5 hour and 5 30 min cocktails THIS is all we are getting. What am I going to do with any of that? My weapon is augmented, teleports..who cares, no xp loss eh ok I'll bite at that. Seriously after two weeks of on going issues that are STILL on going why bother? Yay I get compensation for not being able to login :) Actually since it is a f2p server I don`t mind getting nothing as long as my mentor is logged in:))) As for the people who bought runes of XP/SP I`m sure there should be a way to see who bought them in that period although the list would be huge. It would be nice of people who bought those runes and were not able to login would get compensation.

As with everyone else, I'm very disappointed by how amateur NCWest seem to be, especially when it comes to a game that has been around for 7 years. There is no excuse for dropping the ball so much.
For the inability to play the game, and all the trouble and time wasted even trying to log in for hours at a time, only to be disconnected again after 30 mins of sluggish play, so you can waste another hour trying to log in. For all the hours of our runes wasting away while we were forced offline. For all the failed attempts at fixing the bugs, and all the wasted emergency maintenances. For ending the event early on Chronos and Naia. Basically for rendering the game unplayable and failing to fix it for over a week.
You dare give us only a 5-hour xp rune, and 5 buff pots? The pots are totally completely useless. Bellow lv 85, you should have a mentor. After 85, you should be in constant PTs. If you're not, it means you already have an iss. Just look at how many milks and leafs etc are left and you'll see how we don't care about those items.
The compensation you gave would cover the troubles of January 18th only, NOT the rest of the issues.
What you should do instead is the following:
1) Give a 50% 7-day rune to everyone, or 1200-1500 NC coins that we can do whatever with. This would compensate everyone for the sluggish performance of the servers.
2) Run a script that checks the purchase history of everybody. For every limited-time-usage items that were purchase, reimburse that purchase. This includes runes, agathions, mounts, etc. This would compensate people who wasted money on items they could not use.
Ppl stop QQing you know that they are not forced to give compensation...
If you are insulted by the 5 hour XP rune then you can go play a other game...
If you want 2x event ... common lvling was never that easy...

But honestly i don't mind about this i played the whole week SS where lagging and for the whole week i use about 1 k ss normaly i use 30-40k ss so i save money i was still getting exp that was harder yes but that was fun :) back to C1 style :)

no idea how you wasted week rune. i could login to naia everyday even during times when server was totaly full, and so did all my party. 5min EFFORT and YOU could have been online. in my opinion it was totaly YOUR lack of EFFORT.

The shot lag was disenchanting. The fact that people can create multiple accounts and leave them logged on is just gross. Some can find the use of the EXP rune, others will find use of the buffs but I would like something else and that is bring back Pay 2 Play.

Also, last week was the first and last time I will actually spend money on this game...7 day rune wasted and I get a 5hr one as "compensation" keep the **** thing!...I don't even have the time to play the game for 5 hrs straight! Would be nice if these longer runes could have the timer stop when not logged on >.<

Since you don't want to arrange any more double xp events for some reason, this kind of compensation would work fine.
I, for example, rarely play the same toon for more than 30-50 minutes, so the 5-hours-rune is pretty useless to me.
Also I'd like to emphasize that during the past weeks a lot of players have spent several hours of real life time just trying to log in the game (not even talking of their in-game troubles). How would you compensate that? A rune and a a few coctails seems rather measly, don't you think?

We payed for a 7 day XP Rune not a 5 hour. We got disconnects, were unable to connect, lost parties due to your inability to get us a server without bots to log in immediately after the usual 30 min disconnect time frame for 14 days not for 5 hours.
But as usual NCSoft laugh at their paying costumers as they did since the time I joined in C3 era. Only got to say shame on you and u'll be hearing from paypal soon enough.

I was disconected only ONCE in a period of 2 months... I got a client crash 2 times over the same 2 months. I really don`t know why are people complaining over the their runes of exp... you could login if you would like to. It just took a bit longer.

i had no problem logging in the whole time or being able to xp. someone people quit trying to log on after 5 tries cause the emo rage and leave the pc. shots not working? get more dmg in party. what was funny was seeing people logging in and asking, are ss working? and then logging off.
if you log in and see the server is lagging and ss not working, why would u pop a 7 day rune?

Make a daily restart and refresh vitality 100% every 24 hours. Mine drops in almost an hour anyway, but for people that arent 4th class it should help.
I was disconected only ONCE in a period of 2 months... I got a client crash 2 times over the same 2 months. I really don`t know why are people complaining over the their runes of exp... you could login if you would like to. It just took a bit longer.
You either didn't try to log in during these two weeks of this Tersi event or you just wanna troll. I was fine before the event and didn't have any issue to log in and suddenly when the event started, all the log in issues started and random disconnects and lags in Harnak or SoA.
It just took a bit longer....ehm no dear FrostBite trying to log in for 15-20 minutes and typing the password like a maniac in order to ninja a slot on the server against the bots is not what I call "It just took a bit longer". Other people even tried for 30min/1 hour/2hours.
So yes I complain for my 7day Rune of XP which was waste during the 1st week of the event...didn't make the same mistake the 2nd one.
We pay them with money, real warm EUROs to get something that we can use. If their service is not working it's their end that fails and want a refund.

It is the entitelment mentality that is being engrained in the young folk's heads. Everyone feels that things should be handed to them for free, nothing earned. Just look at the Occupy movement for an example. Bunch of spoiled brats is all it is.

Due to no fault or control of customers the L2 servers were full,lagged,bugged and whatever else. Then on top of all this they make you install pando media booster (bloatware) to your PC in order to update L2.

no idea how you wasted week rune. i could login to naia everyday even during times when server was totaly full, and so did all my party. 5min EFFORT and YOU could have been online. in my opinion it was totaly YOUR lack of EFFORT.

Lineage II is a great game, but it is not the only game out there, with many alternatives coming out over the next few months. NCSoft should be giving out an extra effort to keep us from going elsewhere during these times, not screwing up the servers till everyone is forced to quit, and giving horrible compensation for all the trouble they caused.
When RIM's Blackberry system had trouble, they gave something like 100$ gift card to all their customers. And quite honestly, NCSoft should be making more money per customer than Blackberry does.
NCSoft isn't the first tech company to have some bad times, but they are doing a very terrible job at fixing it (they have to wait for Korea to send them a fix..), and an even worse job at offering customer service.
NCSoft are not obliged to give us anything (except those who paid for items they couldn't use, that is an outright scam), but we also are not obliged to keep playing this game, and many are contemplating to use that right to leave if NCSoft doesn't get their act together, and it better be sooner rather than later.

I'm wondering if there's any plays in the works to compensate those who payed for runes within the past few weeks and have had to deal with the incredible poor server stability issues.
The server wide compensation doesn't even begin to touch the investment that many of us spent and were unable to use not only due to capacity issues, but also the almost unplayable lag and lack of soul shots.
As a paying customer since 2007 (OMG BUT YOUR ACC WAS MADE IN JANUARY?! People have other accounts) this is absolutely ludicrous that we, the paying customers, haven't been thought of in this process.
I just got done going back and forth with support explaining why I need a refund and they give me some AWFUL reply not even relevant to the request at all. I sure hope there is something else in the works for this because I, as a paying customer, expect a whole lot more.

Someone, somewhere is paying for your subscription and their own when they purchase something from the cashshop. Maybe your broke self is paying for free, but someone, somewhere, is paying for you to play and they want compensation. 5 hour exp rune and 5 inferior buff cocktails doesn't cut it for almost 3 weeks of inconvenience. Yes, last week was the worst but login and population problems have plagued many of the servers for awhile. Not only is this insufficient compensation for such a prolonged period of time, it is insufficient compensation for the premature canceling of the tersi event on chronos and naia. The event rewards for that event were substantial, quite frankly the highest we have seen in a long time. It's likely that anyone who didnt get their legendary dyes then, wont be getting any for a loooong time.
Free teleports? Teleport costs are negligable, with the exception of sagyune teleporters and it sounds like they wont be getting the discount. No exp loss on dying? This is actually a punishment to people who want to farm, and of marginal benefit to legit players as most players dont go out of their way to get killed. The real effect of this is that you are going to see a whole lot of people suicide training each other and griefing one another. The augment fee thing is interesting, but you are still dropping millions on gemstones and quite frankly, there never should have been a cost associated with removing an augment in the first place.
So what are we getting, realistically for our troubles? A couple hours of 50% exp (who here is really going to grind for 5 hours straight?), even though a lot of people lost 100 and 200% exp runes during this fiasco in excess of 5hours, some cheap teleports to save us a fews monsters worth of drops, and the ability to get trained at any moment with zero consequences.

But to be fair i wouldn't be foolish enough to buy Runes over the past 2 weeks whilst 'KNOWING' the server is laggy and FULL & then complain about it and blame NC for not being able to log in and moan they should replace items. People that lost Runes during the first week of the event yes it's lame, but what to do? Your gonna moan if they do nothing and if they do actually do something it's never enough. So how can NC actually ever 'please' someone like you? Answer in short? They can't so move on.

Honestly I had only 3 days to lvl up high enough to not spend my time of items (and get new ones) but it was not possible for server downs, I do not have time now and a Rune will not help me enough (even less, that given in a few days) but I'm not complaining.

I have a rune that runs out in a few days and, yes, the SS lag and lag in general sucked big time. I didn't play much because of it so I lost out on my extra XP and a few bucks. Will they give me some form of compensation for the money I spent and for the issues that caused me not to play? I seriously doubt it and I expected as much and that's OK.
I also seriously doubt they will be getting any more of my money in the future.

They took a korean event (where they have to buy hour cars to play) and threw it into a western free 2 play server. This totally nonfitting event caused server issues, because (oh wonder people) exploited it. (Same in Aion....Korean events in a subscription game.....). This causes a damage to the game economy, more than bots ever could do.
Now event is over and SS lags still exist ( with 15 hours of maintenance in 5 days they were not able to fix that).
On Bartz theres a bot group (reported dozens of times by dozens of people) on rank 2-5 of numbers of monster killings. Nothing happened to them and they were ridiculously easy to detect.
Other Servers have have insane traffic, so people cant log in since days.
It appears to me that you are not a happy consumer of their product, you may have to show them how unhappy you really are.

Sace you totally have my respect now, in the other maintenance thread I had mentioned about a compensation for all the trobules from this maintenance and to my surprise when I checked the site today I saw the above mentioned.
Hopefully NC Soft will be good enough to show their faith in the users with a pretty 2x event or even a free XP item to all of us being damaged for this maintenance.

I don't see why everyone is entitled to double xp or 7 day runes. I never really had problems logging onto chronos and the ss lag apparently wasn't bad enough to keep me from being able to solo lower gc.
Should those that bought runes at the beginning of the event be reimbursed? Yeah I think so, they should probably take a look at if those people really xp'd or not during the event though.

At the begining I was thinking just like your thinking now. But in reality, if you look at it from a PVP point of view (which is the end game idea, after all this IS a pvp game), it really sucks.
If you are on a pvp clan, or go through pvp on a daily basis, you might have realized how OP / unbalanced is the reflect damage augment. If the WHOLE server has this kind of augment, you kill the melee clases. You are going to see, healers that by only healing themselves, kill their opponents......
You see stuff like that here and there, but it is going to turn into the WHOLE server like that.
In addition, this benefits the higher end toons. You say you can lvl in gc lower. I am assuming that you are in the 80-85 range. Lets say you get this free augment on your vesper weapons, or may be on your low grade R weapon. The higher end characters are going to be able to put augments on the R95 weapons, the r95 wepons''s augment cost wayyy more than the one on a vesper, therefore it will be benefiting those who are higher lvl. By the time you get to use r95 weapons, you will be on a brand new weapon and augment it will cost you a fortune while higher and older players that not only have the adena, but also have a huge stack of LS will have a HUGE advantage.....

The point of this thread is to discuss compensation. We deserve it, some more than others, and ultimately I do not feel that the current offer is sufficient to shut me up or make me happy. People lost time, people lost money, and people were stressed out due to ncsoft. If ncsoft is going to stick with the 5 hours of 50%, it would make more sense for them to give us that in 1 hour increments so that players can use them at their leisure, rather than pigeon hole us into those stupid and wasteful 5 hour runes. This would make more sense with the 1 hour cocktails (which are also insufficient in my mind, they should at least be the blessing potions that give the 85+ buffs, don't forget you still have 85+ customers ncsoft!)
It really grinds my gears that ncsoft is willing to make server side changes as compensation, but they make the most bizar ones rather than the most obvious, which would be exp/sp/drop rate increases. Sace, where you really thinking for over a week about possible compensation and you completely forgot about the most obvious thing that would make everyone happy? Not everyone needs or can afford new augments even with the removal penalty gone, very few people care about teleport costs, and no exp loss is going to lead to some very obvious problems!

Define "online"? Getting a dc every 15-30 minutes due to the lag or server incapability to handle 6K people and loosing your spot because you would then need 30min / 1 hour or even 2 hours of typing your password?
I'm sorry but some people miss the point that this is the official server of the game no matter if it is P2P or F2P. They still should offer a decent server. 1 week of a 7day rune is 1 month of old subscription based.

I do think that if a reimbursement were to take place, it should be awarded only to those who purchased their Runes nearer the beginning of the server troubles, and not during. If you purchased a Rune while the server issues persisted, it's honestly your own fault that you're out the money.
To anyone bringing up the "entitlement" card... these aren't people looking for hand-outs. They're people who purchased something that they were not able to use by no fault of their own. If you were to purchase food at a supermarket and then were forced to leave it at the door, you wouldn't simply say, "oh well", would you? It doesn't matter that the XP Rune is a digital good, either. Real money was paid for a product that lost its use due to the server issues.
And with regards to still being able to play during the server issues, there's a major difference between being able to log in easily and use your Soulshots and having to spend a half an hour to log in and then not be able to use your Soulshots reliably. The game is built around hunting with Soulshots, and many hunting areas automatically double in difficulty because of the inability to use them (not to mention HP potions).
If anyone is trying to make excuses for NCsoft, they obviously weren't the ones who spent their cash on a Rune. As someone else in this thread said, if you don't buy anything from the L2 Store, it's those paying players that are allowing you to play (unless you are naive enough to think NCsoft wouldn't shut the game down immediately if no one bought anything). Show some respect and quit trolling.
Given the fact that NCsoft is unwilling to compensate those who lost money on this, why would anyone ever purchase a big product like a 7-day Rune ever? By not providing proper customer service, NCsoft is essentially giving no one a reason to trust it. Given these events, I wouldn't personally purchase a 7-day Rune, because there's no customer protection at all.
(And no, I didn't get screwed out of anything. I bought a 3-hour Rune during the event when issues were mild and made good use of it.)
Whilst im far too cheap to purchase rune packs, i do think people that did and were unable to benefit from them should be compensated, if u buy something and it doesnt work its not unreasonable to expect a refund.

Ncsoft you guys have a store and NCoins, use them. Why not try giving your customers NCoins where they could choose what they wanted. It's a win win, people feel happy b/c they get to choose what they want, and it encourages people to use the store where you guys make money.

This is my first time playing official L2 server, i thought it will be perfect that's why i spent my real money on XP rune. Just make the runes a buff instead such that you can keep it by login out. All anger will be over.
If that simply is not possible, provide runes that last a month for 9 euro. Then it is like having a subscription. This will lessen the rage caused by people spending 40 euros on runes (for the love of god OMG give me beer for that money).

1. Mentee system, to benefit from it be that the mentor account is basically logged in 24/7.
- make it so that it also work without the mentor being logged in or fix the other 3 issues.
2. afk shops as not everything can be sold in AH like full armor sets as well the fee charged is to high
- implement the fixes faster that Korea has released on this by lowering the fee significantly.
3. RMT farmers are non stop lvling chars to 20+ for the few millions they make that way, just watch TI & Gludio closely for a week to see the pattern.
- simplest solution IP ban and check for regions as I know for a fact you guys used to auto ban all accounts logged in from China in the past so do it again, at the very least those reappearing lvl1~40 accounts from same IP's.
4. Increased botting, there's no visibility of GM activity so botting has become rampant once more, even with awaken chars as ppl try to hit 90+ asap.
- as there are only a few spots where 86+ chars can bot how hard is it to sweep them daily for bots, Swamp Fairies Harnak SoA GoG Orbis.. Swamp & Fairies is where most bots can be found so ban awaken chars and announce it so ppl will stop think it's normal to do so just cause they could on their freeshard/private server in the past.

It seems as if server issues still remain on Chronos with shots and lag, My suggestion would be to stop adding events and other things for compensation until you can maintain and fix the current servers in there current state. The result of not fixing these issues will be a loss of players by changing to other games such as star wars. The Best compensation that can be offered in my opinion would be BDAY packs, and increasing the amount of xp a mob gives for a period of time for time lost over the last 2 weeks. Also I think it would be best to have a stable servers that can handle castle sieges/TW, this means minimized lag and no server crashing. Another good idea would be either to have a queue for login with a timer so you dont type your password a thousand times when server is is heavy or offer a way to have premium accounts with priority logon.

NCKorea did not give a reason for this. I think Territory War is a collateral damage to the new Siege System. The benefits a clan gets are now not defined by the Territory Wards they store in their Castle, but by whether they are Dark- or Light-aligned.
By the way, in Korea the last Territory War on the even-numbered servers (Sieghardt, Lionna etc.) was on December 31, on the odd-numbered servers (Bartz, Kain etc.) on January 7, while the Tauti update was on January 11: http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/board/update/view?articleId=488841

But a precondition for picking up this quest is still that you have a sub-class at lvl 75. That means you still must do the "Fate's Whisper" and "Mimir's Elixir" quests in Tauti. Needing to present a top B-Weapon requires obviously more investment than farming Territory Badges by sitting resp. lying dead on a Siege Field, not to mention backside openings who consider it as funny to pull the quest monsters to some hidden place so that everybody must wait until the NPC server gets restarted after a maintenance.
Of course, before Territory War was introduced in Gracia Final, everybody had to do the difficult quests, camping actual raid bosses with long respawn times. The point here is that due to the "totally free" business model the number of bots is going up, while legit players are giving up in disgust. As serca has stated on the previous page, bots don't buy items from the Galleria, while legit players do. Insofar it is not a wise business decision to annoy legit players. When they can not play the game, they will simply pick up some other hobby - fly fishing, tango dancing, whatever. Pixels don't cost NCsoft anything, the icons for exp runes, TW badges etc. have been developed many years ago. Placing those items in a character's inventory will first of all show that they repent their sins (what in real life would be a kowtow) and it might just appease one or two enraged players enough for them to stay on a few weeks more, giving their money to NCsoft instead of some rods and tackle shop :D

Due to the internet cafe culture (http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=507&start=190#p8844) in Korea, where nobody keeps paying computer time for 24 hours every day, the Mentoring System works fine over there. I don't think we can expect any real changes from the developers. What NCWest can do on their own is manually turn off the Mentoring System by not giving out any more Mentee Certificates via the Path to Awakening, or better still, completely disable the whole Path system. This seems to be one of the main entryways for account hackers, and with each complaint needing to be attended to by some GM, it is a major drain on NCWest's strained resources. The vast majority of Lineage 2 players worldwide has no Path to Awakening available - it is not really necessary to enjoy the game.

Lowering the Auction House fees, if necessary in a quick Wednesday patch, would really be a good idea. As the patch with the Light Armor Mastery for Healers has shown - which had come within a few days in all L2 Territories at the same time - it is technically possible to implement such changes at short notice, especially when only a number (the commission fee) needs to be changed and not a whole new monster designed.

They don't need to start an account at NCWest. Due to a somewhat unfortunate quest and hunting ground design, GoD can not accommodate more than 2000~3000 players per server. I am from Germany, and if any of my friends played video games (which they don't), I could not invite them to join me on Naia when European IP addresses get summarily blocked. That's what is technically called "collateral damage". It's unfortunate but must be accepted for the greater good. (My forum name Yidao resp. 一刀 means "one [swipe with the] broadsword" - I deeply enjoy solving problems in a terminal way :D ).
It is true that a lot of the players from the territories I mentioned would buy NCoins. Nightwaltz from Taiwan for example is an absolutely legit and long-time player on Chronos. That is what NCsoft is thinking too. The problem is that they will stop buying NCoins when they can't log in any more, they will stop buying NCoins when they can't get monsters for their daily quests, and they will stop buying NCoins when they get locked out of the profitable hunting grounds, especially the Orbis Temple, by the clan dominating their server. All these phenomena are symptoms of overpopulation, and what annoys people is that NCsoft, driven by greed, refuses to do something about it. And as I have pointed out above, players who get annoyed simply take up some other hobby.
This is the age of Shilen, so you might want to meditate on the Prajñāpāramitā Hṛdaya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_Sutra): "Matter is empty", to be is not to be, greed leads to poverty. The "totally free" business model works only if a minimum number of GMs takes care of a maximum number of players. You will not see an increase in GMs who could give any kind of reaction to Bot Reports. Hiring personnel would cut into NCsoft's profit. But unlike Innova, we do not have the Frost anti-bot software. In other words bots can not be banned in a noticeable number by the present system, and if they do get banned, they are, thanks to "free to play" recreated immediately by their owner. The only way to combat bots is to take out the person behind the character. People who can not create accounts can not run 3rd party software. This is what's called "birth control" (计划生育) in China :D
Let's hope that at the presentation of the quarterly report for 4Q 2011 in February somebody in Seoul will suggest to return to a pay-to-play model, maybe with monthly fees raised to 30 dollars, like in Korea (15 dollars didn't work). Otherwise we will sooner or later go the way of L2SEA and Lineage 1 in the West.

Due to the internet cafe culture (http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=507&start=190#p8844) in Korea, where nobody keeps paying computer time for 24 hours every day, the Mentoring System works fine over there. I don't think we can expect any real changes from the developers. What NCWest can do on their own is manually turn off the Mentoring System by not giving out any more Mentee Certificates via the Path to Awakening, or better still, completely disable the whole Path system. This seems to be one of the main entryways for account hackers, and with each complaint needing to be attended to by some GM, it is a major drain on NCWest's strained resources. The vast majority of Lineage 2 players worldwide has no Path to Awakening available - it is not really necessary to enjoy the game.

Lowering the Auction House fees, if necessary in a quick Wednesday patch, would really be a good idea. As the patch with the Light Armor Mastery for Healers has shown - which had come within a few days in all L2 Territories at the same time - it is technically possible to implement such changes at short notice, especially when only a number (the commission fee) needs to be changed and not a whole new monster designed.

IP banning whole areas is also a very good idea, at least as far as the creation of new accounts is concerned. Chinese, Russians, Europeans all have their own servers. They don't need to start an account at NCWest. As I have mentioned in a different thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showpost.php?p=3171712&postcount=27) (Sace, you should really check the links I gave there) even the legit player population must be reduced by several thousand. Due to a somewhat unfortunate quest and hunting ground design, GoD can not accommodate more than 2000~3000 players per server. That has nothing to do with technical limitations but with the monsters available.

Actually, troll, I paid money for a rune of XP, I just had to go through the process of buying NCoin in order to achieve what I wanted to buy.
I would like to know how NC expect me to lead a Clan into a Castle Siege or Territorial Wars if its being impossible to log in the game.
A lot of shops are running around every town with RMT shouters, on shops, etc.
While players that have been here way before this turned into the free nightmare game.
We got promises over and over and around Freya days we seen a lot of banned users, but guess most of the bans were lifted cause they decided to forgiven those sine they probably didn't know they were violating the rules!
Even with that we got a lot third part users removed and ofc the auto pvp system as remained in game, NC even created customers questions to know the opinion about priority to remove those third part programs, once again useless questions.
Now old know users have nice Statues, like almost Global known as "The BOT Monument" before we used to know only those shinny ones that call themselves Heroes (wonder if they play Might & Magic), but now we got a extended list of those well known people.
Would really hope in a resolution on this but since Moxie left NC seems the things are going down faster again and now way worst then before, I don't want any runes vitality whatever I want to be able to have some fun with friends but I can't and my friend's can't since there is a clearly anarchy running into the game at this point, hope someone start thinking if they really want to keep L2 as a game or just give up till the game shutdown.

To sell a product that does not work as described (ie: XP runes when the servers are unplayable) through no fault of the purchaser and not offer a full refund is FRAUD
To sell a product where the product's company listed description is totally wrong (ie: Vit potions that "Fully Replenish Vitality" when it only fills a teeny bit, is FRAUD
To sell a product where you are officially told that you will not lose the weapon if you fail an enchant over +3 but it does dissapear and gives no crystals, is FRAUD
To sell a product that is listed as "Tradable" and then at the last minute change it to non-tradable (ie: soulshot packs, runes, etc.), is FRAUD
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Unless and until ncsoftinthehead fully refunds these blatant scams to the people who purchased them i will not purchase anything from the shops. Not one thing no matter how much I would like to, because I can't trust anything at all about this company.
If any reputable company selling products did this sort of thing they would soon be out of business...

although this "compensation" is something... (not enough) for the players, it is NOT sufficient to repay people that purchased items that are timed while the game was unplayable. They should be fully refunded.
btw, the "timer" that goes on when you are not logged in should be changed to only counting down when you are logged in or have it equipped like shadow items. The timer things are unhealthy, forcing people to play for long periods. (yes they don't have to but most do)

7x12x maybe 5-6 accounts is the 6000. For PAY to play... And unfortunately...almost everyone had to have alts accounts and boxed to ''survive'' in this game.
That's why GOD changes were needed even if ppl cried rivers before its launch.

I guess first of all you need give compensation to those who buyed kind of items like Rune of XP 7 days and Nevit Blessing 7 days.
I did buy 2 Rune of XP 50% for 7 days and 1 Nevit Blessing 100% for 7 days.
Maybe is it available, that those who buy these items until their item on their accounts these accounts become to VIP accounts?
Because if we won't be able to login to our server when we want, I guess many of the players won't buy Rune of XP and Nevit Blessing items from item store.
The Naia server is unplayable on sieges and rush hours
You have to understand that try to logging in for 1hr make the players frustrated and end up to be ridiculous. Instead of resurrect old servers up maybe its better to put some money and update the stability and max entries of clients to the already active servers.
You managed to bring the people from the private servers to the official, But you fail to keep the game alive and you lose your X official customers where They were your assets for years.

Mby u should consider to close "old servers" yea it will be a lot of qq but what is better? to have milion of chars lvl 40- who make lvl 60 end are bored or high lvl players who probably will stay and play this server?
so its imo not so hard to block creating new chars on old servers
another thing which for sure will lower activity is to remove mentee system ... yea a lot of qq but most chars are active 24h per day just stay town do nothing to give exp bonus/buffs - not popular but u must show u have balls and do sth not just promises

LMAO talking about compensation for the annoyance: because I could never log in (overcrowded server) on Chronos I created a new char on Bartz. On my char on Bartz, the day of the last update/fixing or whatever you want to call it, NCSOFT lost 20 millions adena from my char's inventory. They nicely compensated me with a set Of bound C grade gear. the kind of stuff I cannot use because I am not C grade anymore and cannot sell (because it is bound) for more that 50k total to some NPC. How generous is that!!!!

More than a compensation for server issues i would work on a solution to prohibit bots to even log in game.Log in gludio just 1 day and check how many bots are logged:army of lv 1 dwarven logged with bot programs who take the place of many legit players.Is it so hard to take serious actions against botting?It looks like everyone knows who bots in game exept the gms :/.Some ppl even told me that botting is allowed and u can't get cautch by ncsoft...Official is getting a really bad fame.

That's why I asked Sace several posts above for a blanket ban on account creation. No matter where somebody lives, be it the USA, Australia or Europe (ich bin übrigens auch aus Deutschland :) ), nobody makes any accounts.
To say it again, as long as people can't log in they will not play. And people who don't play don't spend any money in the L2 Shop. People can not log in because we have an overpopulation problem. NCsoft does not have the financial resources to set up additional servers with the associated personnel, so the number of players must be reduced.
There are several ways to go about this. One possibility would be for example to go by account creation time and simply delete every tenth account, what the Roman army used to call "decimate" (from "decimus", "tenth"). This will lead to a major outcry from people who feel unfairly treated and not be good for the reputation of NCsoft. So that's not a viable solution.
A better way would be to go through the old records and delete the accounts of anybody who has been suspected of improper behavior in the past. First of all use the Museum Statistics and take out those with a long combat duration, then work your way back in time. With most players, especially in the bigger PvP clans, you will find some dark spot in their past, having used 3rd party software at some siege two years ago or whatever.

As you can see, the article is dated August 25. It lead directly to the Harmony update, which went live on October 19. Unfortunately the Labyrinth of Cartia added then did not solve the problem, nor, as far as we can tell at present, the Tauti update. The only thing that would lure the players out of their cozy Orbis Temple would be to raise the level cap to 120 or whatever and create an even more profitable hunting ground at lvl 110. The earliest time when this will happen is the update after Tauti, i.e. we won't see that before Christmas over here. So the first priority is to take out Awakened players, no matter under what pretext. No more Mentors means no more Mentees, which will encourage especially the younger players to move on to Innova with its double exp premium accounts.
In the long run there will be no alternative to going back to some pay-to-play system, first of all to keep out the undesirables (botters, children ...), but mainly to provide NCWest with a halfways regular revenue they can calculate with. "Totally free" means they are totally dependent on item sales,which leads to a lot of unhappiness among players (see the Destruction Scrolls) and eventually to bankruptcy, like with L2SEA. Innova may be immoral, but they are extremely successful through their premium accounts. That's their main, regular income; any item sales are just the icing on the cake.
Of course this needs to be thought out well, better than "totally free", which was not thought through at all. Disabling the creation of new accounts, i.e. letting at least the old players play and spend money, will give NCsoft the breathing space to do their thinking. One possibility, suggested by Draecke, would be premium accounts with the same exp rate as the regular ones but giving a log-in priority. Each time a paying player is logging in, some freeloader is kicked out. This would have the additional advantage of teaching young players early in their life that respectable citizens pay their taxes, putting NCWest in line with the official Korean government doctrine (http://boards.lineage2.com/showpost.php?p=3172394&postcount=183) (point 4), thus endearing them to their superiors in Seoul and ensuring quick help in times of trouble.
Another possibility would be what Retribution suggested - charging a fee for account creation. Retribution thought about 10 dollars while I personally would tend more towards 50 dollars, but those details can be worked out with a bit of market research.
My favorite solution would be to return to a flat monthly fee for everybody. Since 15 dollars per month did not work, go to 30 dollars, like in Korea. Remove all "power items" like exp runes or destruction scrolls from the cash shop but keep some agathions, hats and buff juices for the additional dollar or two :)
Do we have here a freeloader or somebody with a dark spot in their past? :D

Seriously, some NCsoft employee must now look at the report I just made and go through the formalities of deleting the post and banning you. This is not an efficient use of manpower. In the same time that employee could have investigated bot reports and improved the gaming experience for everybody. That's why it would be a really good idea to disable account creation RIGHT NOW. It frees everybody from pointless tasks (every banned bot gets recreated immediately) and gives them breathing space to attend to the real problems, like how exactly to set up a business model that creates a profit.
Two points to consider:
- A regularly incoming fee, either via premium accounts or a flat monthly subscription might make GMs reluctant to delete accounts, because this would immediately reduce the revenue, while it takes a while until word gets around that L2 is a bot-free game and the revenue increases again.
- A one time account creation fee requires a constant advertising effort to lure in new players. Apart from the man-hours this requires, NCWest might feel tempted to introduce unhealthy welcome packages which unbalance the game.

Something more welcoming than Path to Awakening stuff? I seriously doubt someone can think of gifts so extreme.

That's why I asked Sace several posts above for a blanket ban on account creation. No matter where somebody lives, be it the USA, Australia or Europe (ich bin übrigens auch aus Deutschland ), nobody makes any accounts.
That is a really bad idea that would kill the game, no new players, no one replacing those that leave, no one spending money because they have all they need, and dead game.
I guess that Yidao meant the account creation block to be temporary. After all, if it was forever, it would inevitably lead to Numot's scenario. But a temporary block would give the GMs time to investigate suspect accounts and ban the RMT bots, blocking the creation of new Dwarf bots pestering the towns.
I have numerous accounts and many toons on each. I have used these rewards on every single toon that is eligible for them. I have never been "hacked".
I think he/she was referring to the ticking down of the items.
I think that's precisely JustAGirl's problem. As soon as you open the box, the timer starts to tick down, regardless of whether you are logged in or not. If you play for example in the early morning before you go to work, that's not a problem, but if you can only play in the evening, when logging in becomes difficult, you might suddenly find yourself standing there in your underwear before you have reached the next milestone :)
no point to talk about compensation if there still imposible to log w/o "high traffic quest"
people who played a years, just can't log in their gametime, coz 6k slots taken by boxes of hundreds other ppl who care about +10% xp bonus on their main chars
I know: new players blablabla, no premium accounts bla bla bla, but why zillion boxes\bots\afk chars just taking slots and doing nothing while normal players can't log?
so funny, seems best solutions is: log char @ morning before go to work to be able to play when I back from work. *sarcasm(yet)*
I am about to time out on my awakening gear, my SK is level 69 with just 2 days to go on my A grade gear.
not totaly blaming the recent lag problems though that has slowed me down somewhat.
I am a casual player and only get on L2 for a hour or two in the evenings.. plus I have not played L2 since 2004 so 90% of the game is new to me ... I dont have a mentor or use exp runes I would not inflict myself on a active group as I have small children and have to afk often to deal with them. .. so I solo mostly and level very slow... but I am having fun playing so I dont mind!
Yes I can pick up new A grade gear in Giran, but I dont think I will find any +4 A grade duels for sale there and it will wipe out most of my Adena to do so. .. so now I will level even slower! .. untill 76? when I can open my S grade stuff.
Really it should have been 30 days of "game time" on this awakened gear (and the exp runs for that matter) not 30 days of RL time.

You could always level up another char to lvl 60 and use that awakening gear on your main. Level up a wizard and use the soulshots on your main too hehe :p
