Server Maintenance - 2 - 8 - 2012

News & Announcements Started Last reply 119 posts
All servers will be down for maintenance on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at 5am PST / 7am CST / 8am EST / 1pm UTC/GMT (see other time zones (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Lineage+II+Weekly+Maintenance&iso=20120208T05&p1=234)). Estimated downtime is approximately 5 and a half hours.

With this maintenance:

Announcing our Valentine's Day event, the Valentine Cakes (http://www.lineage2.com/en/news/events/valentine-cakes.php) event begins. Discuss the event in its dedicate forum thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=232802).
The L2 Galleria (http://store.lineage2.com/store/index) and L2 Store (http://www.lineage2.com/en/marketplace/l2-store/) have been updated with new items. Also, the bonus items in the Adventure Pack and Destiny Pack have been changed to new ones. Stay tuned for more details on this tomorrow.
To enhance account security, a mouse-based PIN (Personal Identification Number) system has been added to the Lineage II game interface. Read about how to set up your PIN number (http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/getting-started/pin-security-system.php), and find other PIN FAQs here (http://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8008/kw/pin).
The time zone settings of Chronos, Shilen and Magmeld servers has been changed to their new voted-on server times.

Chronos changes from GMT-6 to GMT-2
Shilen changes from GMT -6 to GMT(+0)
Magmeld changes from GMT-6 to GMT-2

The final pre-queued batch of Magmeld Server Transfers will be processed. If you are queued to transfer, please make sure you meet all the eligibility requirements as listed on the transfer details page. All failed transfers since January 18 will be processed in a later maintenance; more details on this will be posted separately in the future.
The number of Vitality items a player can use per week has increased from 5 to 7. This was done to improve the balance between XP amounts and the effect of Vitality items.
As part of the level 20 chat restriction, the whisper block has been added. Now, a character under level 20 may not whisper unless they have been whispered to by another player, and may only reply to that player.
*UPDATE* To protect against hacks and enhance account security, game passwords of some players have been reset. If you have logged into the game since we changed to Truly Free on November 23, 2011, your password has not been changed. If you have not logged in since before November 23, 2011, your password has been reset, and you must login to your NCsoft Master Account to update your password. Due to security reasons it was not possible to announce this change before the maintenance had occurred.

During this time, the L2 Galleria, the forums login, the Path to Awakening login, and the NCsoft.com login functions will be unavailable.

This... is fantastic!

Huh I smell serious problems in case of log into Naia / Chronos.
Maybe I miss read FAQ but for me it will extend your time to log in x 2

And again ... I need recall again data what I have typed in creation of account almost 8 years ago.

Apart of it I'm not sure if next pwd to type (click) improve really security, as long it seems there is not validation to be PIN different to known profile.master profile pwd or name of chars :/

But changing suddenly security (first time ever in NCW change in login way!) makes me wonder about ppl who get hacked ....

The PIN prompt appears at the character selection screen, which you can only get to if you're already "in" the server (as opposed to staying at the server selection screen).

PIN is entered in the character selection screen, so don't worry, you can spam you password fast as before ;)

Edit: ninja'ed by Sace! Lol!
smells delicious! hope this will give me more chances to log in more frequesntly :P

Oh my god, it will be the best security improvement so far, you know how much time I waited for it Sace :D

I hope it helps with login queue issue
I really hope I get that ticket to Magmeld this week!
Thank you for considering the transfers that fail.. I can sleep easy. :)
+++ on the PIN I really hope it works :D *does happy dance*

and <3 the valentine event even though rewards are kinda plain, at least we won't get D and C grade enchants :D

I hope the rewards stack with other identical items :o and that they are tradable lol

I am finally seeing a little shard of light at the end of the tunnel :o Thank you NC staff!

Sweet, hopefully this can help stop at least some of the bots
Seriously, the PIN ideia was great, not only will make the accounts more secure to hackers, but will also slow down lots of bots that just create new accounts every day just to farm the 3M adena from the new chain quests.

The only thing I didnt liked was the store event from valentines day, I dont like the fact cashshoppers have a chance to get a permanent ring/earring.
This is some of the greatest news we've heard from you Sace, since the F2P launch. The PIN sounds like the a great idea. Another idea (the next step?) would be to have an official smartphone app with an authentication feature, which would make login security flawless.

Anyway, this feels like a great step forward compared to all the let downs of recent events, and there has been a lot of them. And has definitely restored some kind of faith for NCwest. Not all of it, but enough to keep me hopeful.

Btw, the comic for the Valentine Cakes event is a great addition. Would like to see more official comics, even if they are fan-made and selected.
The number of Vitality items a player can use per week has increased from 5 to 7. This was done to improve the balance between XP amounts and the effect of Vitality items.

I do not feel that this increase issufficient enough to address our complaints and concerns. Those with stock piled vitality items will still require months/years to use them all before they buy more from your cash shop and those that buy from you only gain an extra hour worth of vit per week at the price of 2 additional dollars. That is a poor deal for both players and ncsoft. Next time you increase it, try throwing a zero to the end -_-
I hope the PIN thing brings trouble for ppl using programs. But given the track record so far, I doubt it :(

I've been wondering if bot programs can already handle this sort of security feature. From what I've seen, anytime we receive a new feature like this, it's already been available for months in Korea, Russia, Taiwan and so forth, and if that's the case, then there's a good chance bot programs are already programmed to handle this.

And that just assumes out-of-game clients. In-game clients, this PIN code wouldn't deter anything.
By sny chance, Is the Pin keypad located randomly somewhere else on screen so it prevents from automating mouse movements?
By sny chance, Is the Pin keypad located randomly somewhere else on screen so it prevents from automating mouse movements?

AION introduced a similar system a while ago; the on-screen position of the keypad is fixed iirc but the arrangement of the number buttons is randomised each time so automating entry would be doable (in an extreme case, simply by capturing and analysing the screen image to get the co-ordinates of each number button) but non-straightforward.

I wouldn't mind an authenticator, even if I had to buy it or but an app (android)

Couldn't agree more.
I like PIN idea. Now I can leave login script afk w\o risk to share password with whole server. xd
The Pin is indeed promising good news,
but i suggest (if it is possible) to make the pin keyboard appear in random spot on screen each time so that the xxx, yyy positions of the mouse will not be fixed
Funny is that VIT are suppose to be 22h, thats bullcrap, and you can extand that to 7x30min = 6,5h. Thats nothing. Give us some new usefull VIT pots instead of the crappy 30min pots :(

if its like aion pin the number locations will be random eachtime u login
Great solution whit pin code :)
So you guys ever gonna fix the vitality so that its based on time played instead of XP gained like it was supposed to be when GoD came out ??????????

That would be a much, much better fix instead of increasing vit item's~~

It is too difficult o have game masters ingame 24/7 banning all gold-shouters-sellers? it is too difficult just watch the chat channel on any town and see: "oh that is a gold seller /ban" it is too difficult that when someone make a bot, exploit, or any inproper conduct just click the good for nothing bot alarm and a GM get on queue to just go there and make the proper "/BAN".

Do you have(I am talking to you NCSoft) any idia how fast is to make a char lvl 20 and port it anywhere and shout for gold sell, or just easier place a shot in the GK selling gold? ok is difficult for sellers if they had to have lvl 20s if you are BANNING them, but since you DONT! then is just a matter little time to make the lvl 20 char and make the FOOL out of you! (yes NCSoft... you)

I will make a guess. puting aside the web devs, any publicity, office personel, etc I can "bet" that NCSfot West have like... 2 or 3 tech guys, at the Datacentre or just admin remotly? that make the weakly maintenance, deploy the data sent by Korea and make the server transfers, etc each week, meanwhile (rest of the week) those guys just work on guards maybe 1 at the time only?.

WTF? I swear on god (even when I am atheist) that servers like AzureL2 (private "pirate" server) had more ppl working on the server than you NCSoft DO. they sure had a buggy server with some stuff not working, but they had 0 dualboxers, 0 walkers, etc. why dont you call the guy that was the server dev and offer him a job so you can make the game as is supose to be.
I see no changes in bonus items from L2 galleria adventure packs
I swear on god (even when I am atheist)
Then your whole post is rubbish and should go to the trash immediately. Cuz swearing on something you don't believe...

Plus NCWest (US dep.) can't edit anything in this game. Why can't you understand that simple thing?
Yeah cause offering a job with full access to the database and server to any random admin of every random private server which by default is illegal and he is committing a crime against ncwest and ncsoft is the wisest thing NCwest will ever do.
I Really hope that the PIN system works like AION :)
if not, will be just useless.

Faith!! xD
I see no changes in bonus items from L2 galleria adventure packs

Cause the updates havent been done yet..

Well its certainly a beggining, with this people wont be able to automatically log in 40 accounts
however doesn't solve walker or pvp assistance programs
it's a start, lets keep it up :)
I hope it helps with login queue issue

What will this pin actually prevent? I fail to see how this is going to do anything to alleviate the login queue, if anything it'll just make another painful step to logging in and being denied due to a full server. A wow based login queue would be far superior

Also anyone else LOL'ing that this game is slowly becoming AION?
Took them 8 years to come up with the PIN idea, incredible, we have a new set of geniuses at NCsoft!!!!

for the love of God STOP with this ideia already

what is the point in having a queue so long with bots you can never reach the door? this is a sucky ideia, not even close to a solution, obvious solution solve the bot problem, PIN will help do it, its a start and certainly better than an infinite queue

99% of MMOs have queues yet L2 doesn't have one. Whatever it does help for bots or not, I for one, am tired of typing in my pass 50 - 200 times even on Monday afternoon which is far from primetime. Queue would help that to some extent.

How is entering a pin going to help? I don't believe that there are people using automated programs to login to the game. I'm sure they use automated programs to help in pvp and to automate in game actions but what will this do to help rid the servers from the bot scourge?

This 100% its barbarous to have to reenter a 8 digit password 50 times in a row.

There are botters and RMT bots that don't even use the normal client to run and bottle up the server slots. Have someone noticed that the population on Naia gets cut in half after midnight, but never actually goes to 0 unless there are crashes or maintenances?

I see so the pincode will help with people using heavily modded clients (or none at all) from auto logging in? That does seem like a decent step in the right direction. I wasn't aware people could even do that.

use a hotkey
I am afraid these types of clients will capture, analyze and craft packets pretending to be PINs at lower level than l2 client. But at least oog clients may disappear for a while.
use a hotkey

how do i set this up?
Why cant ppl learn to read?

You put in the code at char screen, not a login screen
So unless u dc u only have to put in the code 1 time..
+1 for the Comic tutorial thing! I've seen some of the korean comics and I wished they had some english ones.

Download
http://www.*********.com/file/t38i6ibl4qs9bi3/login.rar

Extract
Open login.txt
Write your account password in the right field. You can change the key (default is F12) and the window name for those who play in a different language and the game window has a different name.
Save login.txt

Open the game
Type your username manually
Open hotkeynet.exe and load the login.txt you saved it above
Switch back to your game window and press the hotkey you chosen previously.

The password will be automated imputed and at 2 secs period enter will be pressed.

This is NOT automatic. You can't go away and leave it to try to login, you have to press the key at every attempt.
This is NOT specific to some hardware, any keyboard will do just fine.

Hello,

I think I can see where there may be some confusion over our position on the use of hardware such as the Logitech G15, Nostromo or other programmable game devices. In actuality, our position regarding the use of these devices has never changed. It has always been against the rules when these devices are used to automate game play in a manner not possible through normal game play.

The best way to determine if how you are using these devices is a violation or not is by asking yourself “Can a normal keyboard/mouse combination replicate the same behavior?” If how you are using the programmable device can be done through a regular mouse/keyboard combination, then you won’t have anything to worry about.

One example I often hear of is spamming CP potions. These devices can be setup to endlessly spam CP potions with the push of a button. Repeatedly consuming CP potions is possible through the use of a regular keyboard by setting up a hotkey and just holding down the hotkey on the keyboard. The difference is if the programmable device is somehow able to detect the character’s CP level and automatically start spamming CP potions at a specific level and then automatically stop spamming the CP potions at a specific level.

There is a very distinguishable difference between using these devices to facilitate game play compared to using these devices to automate game play. We’re looking for and testing for the automation. If the character is found to be exhibiting behavior that cannot be replicated through the use of a normal keyboard/mouse setup, then the character is considered to be “botting” even if they are only using a programmable device like the Logitech G15 or Nostromo.

Will

If the policy changed since he posted, please remove my post and I apologize.
It is based on time played. It is a balance between how much XP is needed, how much Vitality is needed for a healthy boost, and how much playtime is lots without being too much. Try it out before deciding on a stance, you may see a noticeable and positive difference.

Are you implying you have changed the system completely with this 5 meg patch, or are you admiting you've never played lineage before? Do we have a new person posting as Sace or something? Vitality is not based on time, it never has been. You are saying nonsense!

When Vitality was changed in GD part of the reason was to prevent players from playing so much that their real life suffered. Having a limited amount of Vitality items per week is intended to mitigate the drive to play too much.
While I agree with no white chat option for 20 and below, I don't like the no whisper. When I created a new character just for giggles, it was a way to still communcate with some of the REAL newbies that looked totally lost. (Yes >.> that's my hobby...)
So, in other words, you dont want use to p(l)ay Lineage2 at all?

Currently vit get emptied in a few hours, thats what normal ppl do in a day

lol, and you overcompensated this by forcing mentors to be online 24/7
thanks for thinking of us
If you don't want players do play that much make a way to refill vitality only when you are off and make mentor buff 12h/day, without the mentor on.
This will easen the servers also, and players will get plenty of rest

My life is suffering more without vit items than with ;( Have to xp more to get to the same lvl.

In defense of Sace, that's not a system thought by Westerners nor for the Western market.
Some time ago Yidao wrote a long and useful post (on Rochand if I recall correctly; yes, I lurk there sometimes...) on Koreans habits. The change in Vitality system was introduced after the approval of severe limitations in gaming for public safety and health in Korea, following some extreme cases, like the one of the parents that completely forgot about their baby and let him die of malnutrition. NCsoft (aka NCKorea) after much discussion with the politicians agreed in changing the Vitality system to discourage excessive gaming.
And that's the system we're currently sticking with.

(Please someone correct me if I'm wrong with my summary.)

As for Mentor system, Koreans feel crowded places reassuring, so they plan systems and events that make the towns in game look crowded. And anyway in Korea nobody can keep their character logged in 24/7 if playing from an Internet cafe.
Sace,

Can you explain to me, what is this VAT, what for I have to also pay when I buy NCoin?

When you did released the article that peoples from Europe will be able to pay in Dollar too I was so happy, because than I can buy with 30% more NCoin as if I would shopping for Euro.
But when I changed today to buy 800 NCoins for 10 Dollar, I did experience, that appeared this VAT, what told me I have to pay still +2,73 Dollar.
Anyone Tried to login yet?
i am trying to open the launcher and it is like "stuck".

Everything Freezes and update ain't done.

Vitality isn't based on time from what I have seen. At level 86, just be doing the 30 minute Seed of Annihilation Nursery, my Vitality points is already down to the last bar. Now if I played the same 30 minute on a lower level character that is leveling in an area that doesn't give as much experience per mob as the nursery does, my vitality would have barely gone down at all.

If this is how it was suppose to work then it isn't really based on time played but based on how much experience gained.
Please note that an update was added to the maintenance notice now that the servers are open:

To protect against hacks and enhance account security, game passwords of some players have been reset. If you have logged into the game since we changed to Truly Free on November 23, 2011, your password has not been changed. If you have not logged in since before November 23, 2011, your password has been reset, and you must login to your NCsoft Master Account to update your password. Due to security reasons it was not possible to announce this change before the maintenance had occurred.
nice update but lancher got error again wtf?
does this need to be happen in every update?
I got prob withmy lancher and most of my friends!
Stupid lancher don't wanna download updates and stuck!
Any solution on this Sace mb ?

You had to feel a little embaressed and ashamed when typing that ridiculous lie. There is no way you think your player base is that gullible. You really want a level 86 toon only playing one hour every week? I dont think so. I would suggest going forward you and Jujji read each others posts before you hit the enter button. This would help you both in two ways. You could get your stories straight before hand and you could keep eachother posting BS that is so far fetched. Tiferet1's answer was far more realistic or atleast sounded better maybe also pm him your posts to proof.....

Same happens to me everything freezes.Tried to Repair but stucks at 30 %
Same for me update stucks at 32%, Please where can we get help to solve this issue ?
Thank you.
Please contact the support team (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) if you're experiencing trouble in downloading and installing the game updates.

Since there are lots of people having the same problem,it would be great to have an answer in a topic since it is the same for all.

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. When I said "it is based on play time," I was referring to the limited amount of Vitality items per week, not Vitality itself. Regardless, the good news is that the weekly Vitality limit has been raised from 5 to 7. Moving posts on this topic out of the event thread and into the maintenance thread.
Since there are lots of people having the same problem,it would be great to have an answer in a topic since it is the same for all.

The thread for this matter is here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=232370) but currently it only directs players to contact the support team because a common cause for this issue has not yet been found. As players with this issue contact support, the support team can see if a pattern emerges and pinpoints a common cause for the problem, which we can then post.
Guess i got to wait then.
Thank you anyway
You still have 3 possibility to start game:
-Close updater, kill "PMB.exe" process and start update again
-If not helps, again close updater, kill "PMB.exe" process, remove Pando Media Booster from PC (uninstall), restart PC, start update again.
-Start L2 without updater (not sure if will works due to different version)

Actually problem that PMB can't download L2_Main_1.0.0.23To1.0.0.24.ncpatch file but atm I'm not sure about basic cause of this issue.
TW time did not change?
TW time did not change?
Also Siege starting time is the same
ok not sure if i should post this here but when i launch PMB wants to download, i click install and this happens

System.DllNotFoundException: Não é possível carregar a DLL 'PMBWrapperLib.dll': Não foi possível encontrar o módulo especificado. (Exceção de HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
(System.DllNotFoundException: not possible to load a DLL 'PMBWrapperLib.dll': not possible to find the specified module. (exception of HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

then it genarates a bigger error, related to the PMBWrapperLib.dll' file and the Thread.Start command, opnion, couldn't find file and the thread threw up an exception

i've uninstalled PMB and it still does the same

What should i do?
TW time did not change?

idk on what server you guys playing but on Magmeld the times aren't change too :s
Its the same old time, it didnt change. I guess there will be another short maintenance?
chronos btw
There is no way I will log off my account ever (unless forced to) if I have to click on 6-8 numbers besides my account and password to login. Specially after typing like maniac for 30 minutes bcos the servers are full é.é

Isn't it easier to make us dance the macarena to login? At least it would be funnier.

Just bcos some ppl give their passwords away or have crap on their PC everyone has to click from 6 to 8 times an always changing set of numbers. Really? Was this the best u could think of?

For the ppl complaining they have nothing on their pcs, didn't give pass away etc: do u rly think a 6-8 numbers code is harder to get than your acc name and password? Srsly don't be so dumb, it's less than half the effort.

Kudos for the 7 vita pots and store items.
When Vitality was changed in GD part of the reason was to prevent players from playing so much that their real life suffered. Having a limited amount of Vitality items per week is intended to mitigate the drive to play too much.

You want people to moderate their playtime and yet you offer 5-10 hour XP runes that continue to tick away when you're logged off. Perhaps you should fix that problem.

You dont need to spam your pin code like you did with the password. Just when you log into the game.

Today on naia not even a trace of high traffic =)
Well... I already saw a party of bots hunting in blazing swamps @magmeld so...you know...
You want people to moderate their playtime and yet you offer 5-10 hour XP runes that continue to tick away when you're logged off. Perhaps you should fix that problem.

Pretty much this, yes. I seldom have more than one hour at a time to play, almost never 2 hours at a time (and that's limited to sieges and TW, usually). Let me buy one-hour-runes, please!
Last night at campaing on naia server saw RTM Spamer and private shop whit text
They never said that RMT bots cannot log in manually. But they cannot log automatically with custom clients.
And also they never said anything that the pin security will erase any trace of bot in L2. But it sure helps as a first step.
Well... I already saw a party of bots hunting in blazing swamps @magmeld so...you know...
Well obviously , this is not the end to all botting.
What the login did , is to deter (for now at least) RMT botters loging in 30 toons(without l2 clients) per pc to do the starters quests , as they did before. Now they must use l2 clients to login and that is time / hardware consuming.
I am glad the server is clean of those for the moment and I have yet to get a login fail , we ll just have to see how long this will last.
Tiferet1's answer was far more realistic or atleast sounded better maybe also pm him your posts to proof.....
I don't know if I should feel flattered or offended by this.
Putting aside the fact I was merely summarizing the insights offered by another player (Yidao) about Koreans' social behaviours - I lurk a lot, I read a lot and process informations a lot -, Sace and Juji are doing their work -- meaning, what they're paid for and they say what they can say to us, the players.

Besides, I'm a girl.
...still praying for a change to the pvp/pk system :)
I forgot my pin code is blocked and what I do now; :(

You are saying the same as I

"There is no way I will log off my account ever (unless forced to) if I have to click on 6-8 numbers besides my account and password to login. Specially after typing like maniac for 30 minutes bcos the servers are full é.é"

After means later on, you type like crazy to login THEN u type the useless code.

P.s.: u can already log in with this new code crap with a "custom client" as u call it. 48hs? Good job with security lol
I cant conect since de maintenance, does anyone else has the same problem? i try different servers and accounts

did you run the update? :p (not bypassin the launcher like a boss)
When Vitality was changed in GD part of the reason was to prevent players from playing so much that their real life suffered. Having a limited amount of Vitality items per week is intended to mitigate the drive to play too much.

Just an FYI, my life would suffer less if I could use as many as possible to hit 99 and then just log for raids.
Funny is that VIT are suppose to be 22h, thats bullcrap, and you can extand that to 7x30min = 6,5h. Thats nothing. Give us some new usefull VIT pots instead of the crappy 30min pots :(
lol

You introduced a level cap that requires literally a trillion exp to reach, and then you limited us to 2 and a half hours of 200% exp in order to save our lives? Then you further limited our advancement down that path by only letting us buy a 50% boost that was available to us for free prior to goddess? That does not follow. What does follow is that if you force players into a 50% only boost at 15 dollars a week, you guarantee an income of over 60 dollars a month for the bare minimum of 6 months. Stop doing us "favors" ncsoft, get rid of the limit entirely. Take the birthday potions out of that 25 dollar box and put them up by themselves for a more reasonable price. Players wouldn't have to bot/play 12 hours a day if they could stack some decent bonuses. You know this, why the act?

And on that topic, when the hell are you going to do something about those that are 90+ bots? We appreciate you sending us all those bots on magmeld, fairy settlement is full of summoners who stand in the same spot for hours, not picking up drops, and having their pets auto kill everything. They, of course, are now the highest levels on the server and no legitimate player will ever catch up or be able to stand up to them. They bot in the mornings and then pvp/grief/daily quest at night. If anything drives a real player to hurt themselves it will be the frustration from dealing with these kinds of bots, rather than leveling at a decent rate because of vitality!

I'd be more likely to believe that if GoD actually gave the amount of Vitality that you still advertise on your website that it does.

GoD features (http://www.lineage2.com/gd/features.php):
20 hours of Vitality a week (sharable across your characters)

A level 86+ toon gets less than 1 hour of Vitality a week. That's only 5% of what you continue to advertise, despite this being reported several times over the last 2 months.

Either GoD Vitality is broken, or the website needs updating - but there's NO way that 1 hour = 20 hours.

Trying to encourage people to play in moderation by having 20 hours of Vitality per week makes some sense. Trying to encourage people to play in moderation by having 1 hour of Vitality per week is ludicrous.
I don't know how you did it, but with this maintenance and the new pin, more people not less are on.

<table align="center"><tbody><tr><td>NAIA players:</td><td class="c7">6187(now)/6213(max today)</td><td>
</td></tr></tbody></table>
And how come till the maintenance you couldn't log in at 6k online and now there are almost 6200?
Have you announced an increase in slots?

We have temporarily increased the limit on some servers while we pursue more permanent solutions to the server capacity/login issue. It was not announced because it will change again in the future, does not apply to all servers, and it does not entirely solve the problem.

Hi Sace,
When will the new server time be applied ?
Hi Sace,
When will the new server time be applied ?

The new server time zones were applied with this maintenance on February 8. Now all servers are on their voted-on time settings.
Moved this question out of the event thread, to here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=232803). The number of Vitality items per week is based on time played. It is a balance between how much XP is needed, how much Vitality is needed for a healthy boost, and how much playtime is lots without being too much. Try it out before deciding on a stance, you may see a noticeable and positive difference.

I get what you are saying but I stand by what I said and asked, for instance, if you are a awakened toon, and you do one SoA solo instance, that will take your whole vit bar, so that's 30 min's and all your vit is gone, vit item's do not fill your whole bar, so that's even less vitality, hence it goes even faster.

When GoD came out in the notes it said our vit was going to be time based, like 20 hour's of vit a week per account, ( though from what I read from the Korean sources it was really like 4 hour's a week ), this isnt how its working, so once again I am asking, are you guy's going to fix it so it work's as was intended or stated.

The store vit boost's would actually be far more attractive if vit worked the way it was intended and would boost sales there, why buy a 5 hour vit boost item when you know your whole bar is going to be gone in 30 min's ?
So any response forthcoming ????

On the GD preview site we posted that there will be roughly 20 hours of Vitality shared over the account. This does not specify the conditions to meet that number, but that is the number that was given as the general amount to quote. Vitality was testing during the pre-launch QA process, and it verified that a character's level, what Vitality boost items they're using, where they hunt, and how much XP they gain all make the amount of time vary, but overall it is working as intended.
I have not been able to use in-game shop since this update and i am still waiting for a gm to email me with a fix after 2 petitions

No level 85+, 76+, or even 50+ player gets anywhere near 20 hours of vitality. You would have to skip all quests and grind exclusively on level 10 monsters to maintain vitality for that long and you know it. And even then, you'd be high enough level to have not have vitality duration by the next reset.

"Working as intended", not really. It's specifically getting changed in harmony, and again in tauti, because it isn't working as intended. The system is garbage and needs an overhaul and it is indeed getting one in the near future. How could you be working on Harmony and not know this? Why would you try to tell us all is well when your bosses disagree?

PM me your ticket number(s) and I can check on your tickets to see what their status is.
I hope Bartz xfer info is coming soon.

Erm, something is wrong here then, like I said, one SoA instance wipes out ALL my vitality for the entire week, for the entire acct, and one SoA instance is 30 min's ( that's 19.5 hour's off from 20 )~~~~, the math just does not support it~~

Maybe send us a birthday pot a week or something, then it would at least be 4.5 hour's, LOL.

Or offer BD pot's ( called something else but same vit maintaining and building effect ) in the NC store, those would sell like hotcakes~~

Well lemme test it then on a lvl 40 sub (cos 1-41 is Newbie Quest based).
Then we can tell you if it is "working as intended"
Seriously i think you have to do a mass slap to the entire QA "Team"
idk if this the updates fault or not but account creation is down...
pls fix it

We had some account creation issues a few days ago but I believe it is working again. We'll take a look to see if there are any issues with it.
It's not really a bug, it's just that the rate of vit decrease seems tied to the amount of xp instead of the number of mobs killed, so at higher levels the vit bleeds off within 30 min of xp. The patch notes are accurate for the lower levels, but perhaps could be clarified that it doesn't pertain to higher level characters.
seeing how we don't even have the Harmony update yet which comes before Tauti I fail to see how that's relevant..
He is saying its gonna be fixed in future update. So asking for a fix right now seems pointless. We will get that patch eventually, so just hang tight!

Do you think someone will find solution? I still waiting for two stupid bug fixes, about 80 days already. Thanks NCWEST for the BEST support ever.

Just a heads-up: The UI for the PIN is well done, but the PIN itself gets sent only being masked by the usual hard-coded XOR mask, which for all intents and purposes is about as secure as sending it in plain text.

So this system offers zero protection from network sniffers. A question to the NCSoft dev team: Did you guys ever heard of "hashing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_hash_function)" (and no, it doesn't involve cannabis, sorry to disappoint you).

Thats a cop out answer. The inability of NCwest to admit when they were wrong, misleading, and ignorant never ceses to amaze me.....
