Letter Collector Event (12th Anniversary)
The Letter Collector event will return as the 12th Anniversary system event. There will be a few system changes added with this event:
New Item - Kaliel's Energy – Longing - A new Kaliel's Energy item will be added as an event reward. Use this new item at the Seed Talisman Manager for a chance to upgrade the Longing Talisman to an Insanity Talisman.
Update to Compounding Soul Crystals - Soul Crystals will now be compoundable up to Stage 8.
YouTuber Matt Cribbs shares off his newest pet – a Kookaburra! He was previously leveling up a wolf pet but decided to try out this pet to see what its differences were. Hi YouTube videos are great for new or returning players as they explain a lot of the basics as he levels up his character in Lineage II.
As some of you know, I’m the new Community Coordinator in charge of Lineage II. I’m taking over from Buster Casey who’s done a phenomenal job here but has some amazing new stuff to work on.
I gave an introduction thread on the forums here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=288639) if you’d like to hop in and say “hi” as well. Thank you so much to those who have already gone in and given me such a warm welcome.
Back in 2004 I heard about this new game called Lineage II and decided to give it a try. I played a lot of table-top role-playing games and it seemed like the perfect blend of fantasy and action to hold my attention. I made a lot of friends as I embarked on my journey into MMOs. Unfortunately I wasn’t paying attention and my original character was lost during the Great Platform Deletions from a few years back. I’ve started a new character and have recently dinged to level 79. I have quite a bit to catch up on but I’m avidly playing so I can get up to speed with common player issues, especially at end game. I’m having a lot of fun playing again and have been happy to see so many kind players still out there.
On another note, I’ve also noticed some negativity on the forums in regards to lack of information on upcoming Lineage II features. Believe me, I completely feel you and we want to keep you in the loop on what’s going on. We have a lot of things that we’re working on but we have to get approvals from lots of different stakeholders (usually by making sure 110% that everything is correct and working as intended) before we can give more details on just about everything. We do this so that there’s less risk for even more anger if something doesn’t come out on time or work the way players thought it would. We’re doing what we can to refine our communications and approvals processes but for right now, this is what we have to do.

Sry but i dont believe this number, according to this site: http://www.lineage2.es/misc/retail.php, and as the big data analyst that Im, sry, but this number of bans, make absolute nonsense, specially when I see every guys botting, all the same people, in the same place for +10 hours, I've sent videos, screenshots, I asked for you and velia to log in to check in the moment, and nothing, so, really I dont know where this number came from, and dont know where do you guys are searching for bots, but it looks like only NCwest cant find them, last antharas, again people hitting while animation. And for development if NC doesnt do TDD (test driven development) for a huge game like this, I feel sorry for all of us.
That number doesn't mean anything cause almost 100% of them are automated out of the game bots that run for the propose of shouting at towns. (and maybe gather some adena too)
As you can run a really high number of them per computer that number of bans is actually quite normal.
Again, because it doesn't reflect the number of bans on PVP/PVE scripters, that number doesn't mean a single thing.

At times there is literally 1 new bot every second.
That makes 60 bots per minute, 3600 bots per hour..
If you dont think 75k banned in one month is possible, you're not "as big of a data analysist" as you thought :rolleyes:

Do you play the game, if so what server do you play on?
I have watched bots being created in Faeron at better than one a second. That would be 3,600 an hour, times the number of servers. 73,000 in a month is a drop in the bucket. Can we please have a report on progress toward stopping people from using scripts during pvp? Also, on the progress in getting the proper items from prestige boxes? Also, on the crashes that are happening all too often in Aden and elsewhere? Also, on the fact that I can't log on at all right now because the system insists on updating first, but can't find the update file?
The cute graphics and claims about how many bot have been banned are nice, but they don't address the real problems with the game. Please spend less time on cute graphics and more time on real fixes to the game. By the way, when is the next update coming out?
P.S. So sorry to see you have ruined the letters event. It used to be one of my favorites. I could grind all day and make at least half a dozen of each word. It was so exciting to get a II! Now, unless I want to buy the key letters with ncoins or with adena from someone who used ncoins I really have little chance of getting anything. All the fun has gone out of it.
Why openly subject yourself to this by giving number of bots banned? We all know its bulls hit and does not deal with the pvp scripters. I've sent videos, screen shots for the same scripters for months now and nothing.
Please spend less time on news letters and more time on getting rid of scripters before you kill the game even more (talking about company, not you specifically).
Also, just release Helios, quit trying to get the 7 signs SA crystal to work, and them later if you insist on breaking the game even further.
A follow up section for open items from previous Preview Month Summary posts should be added, like the below, or even better make it part of the Weekly Maintenance Notes so we know what/when to expect.

=> This suggests more patch notes forthcoming and a release date, we're waiting on this so make sure it's visible to us that it's still actively being worked - it has been now 4+ Months!!

Poor guy .. he dosent know that in L2 nothing drops now ... and to get items or even top items would be altmost imposible job ...

When reading the replies here that does not run counter to the topic you created.
The fact mention the amount of players who have been banned (which was made by former CM sometimes) is numerical detail and cyclical which will be repeated every month.
I admire that new people (like you) being added to NCWest and thus making your Community Coordinator job very well (or even better than the predecessor) as well as bringing new things like giveing us "spoiler" about new additions in L2 Store previously, as well, in this case Elpy Report v.1 bring something more fun to this forum.
While it is true that many of the players were not happy to come to the forum.
My case for example, I love to come here and read "almost" about everything that is important and relevant, though not like to answer.
But I know a lot of people, also many of my friends who play with me who hate to read the forum, either by being tl;dr, either because there was nothing attractive.
Anyway, it is worth a like what you're trying to do with your new ideas, being placed in the forum. :cool:

You picked a wrong game to coordinate.
Lineage was designed to be self-coordinating and self-regulating.
But you removed everything that made it so and substituted with stupid "events".
Everything that was good in this game, starting from SSQ, was trashed.
Add the "To Do" list Draecke had posted to each report so we can see progress on the important stuff.
About bans:
Start banning PVP Scripters, some are really more than obvious. Abandon your lvl 79 toon and play Oly or CoC with a high-lvl char to see with your own eyes what's going on. Or visit Gainak, or Parna.
Ban some of these and spread the word. Instead of an anonymus "73k bots banned" I'd prefer to see some names of well known scripters from each server sent to Valhalla. This would stirr up some uneasyness among the not-so-legit ones and would be a first step.

On the serious note where is the change race service we've been waiting for quite awhile now?? Helios update?? anti-bot or whatever its called?? so many promises that has yet to be fulfilled.
I feel like Yaviey is put to the forums for the players to calm us down, now since Juji doesnt have much time so we only get like the newbie (no offence @Yaviey, it's totally fine) to answer our stupid and irritating questions. :D

Yaviey. Ok now i want to give my 2 cents about anniversary events. You know im old player i like spend my free time here but to be honest This letter event is depressing. You have nice system events such as Libra or draco , not to mention last Alien event and that very very old one in fantasy isle hidden box hunt event was also cute. Thos events are VERY positive with very nice reward system for COMUNITY! .
Now This Letter collector event or cards events guys i swear to god you need to rethink rewarding system. I noticed longer prize lists more crappy results . Crappy results = depressing. Just saying you know i'm old wolf here and i seen good times bad times etc. But i swear to god guys stop stomping Huge lists of useless items in prizelist. Korean chances to get good prize is low itself like 1% . And when you have this insane list of items ... What we players can ? just dont event try look into this l2store thing with 9600 Ncoins what is actually 120$ ? 100 attempts to get Blessed escape scrolls. Im not sure if you can but if you do just look at Alien event look at draco event and think what did you do that they are so successful ? And many people will confirm that we enjoyed it. We got possibility to enchant no matter that 20 + weapons got Poooof into crystals :D but we had possibility to have this fun. You know ? geez i loved to enchant all those R grade after opening dozens of capsules .
And what today ? 12th aniversary and its literaly depressing. Letters u get bsoe u use bsoe at same spot u stand :D. meeehh . Boooriiiiing. Give us Cool event with Cool activity. )) or just give us alien2 i dont mind :D.

I don't recall anyone saying L2 is a crap game. We're just tired of being treated like crap and being told over and over and over again they're going to do something but never follow through with it.

Have some patience, you're all being negative, and there's nothing more to it. They are giving us more and more Community Administrators / Commendators, which help us provide the information. Look sometimes just on the bright side... You're enjoying the game if you're an 103 Feoh, why are complaining then? It's making me sad and just irritates me, why do people get so upset with things, that sometimes don't even influence them.
I think you should happy with what we get so far. Give them time. I AM happy about the game, and I'm just enjoy playing it for the sake of the friendliness of the players that I play with and the people surrounding me.
I think we should just think on what we have NOW, and just wait for the Dev team to give us the things they plan, when they are 100% ready.

Just lmao!! How long have you been playing L2? A year at best? It took me 10.5 years to get to 103 PLUS a helluva lot of cash that I am now finding other useful things to spend on rather than throwing it away on this game. Patience? I've lost mine. Negative? Darn tottin' after NCsoft's incompetency and attitude for months and months on end. If you don't like what you read on the forums, well, get use to it. Besides, they're a lot tamer than they use to be.

You killed may tyr toon that was killing your bots in Blody swamp, antil poor lvl 85 tyr was gearls, he has 78k karma on your bots in 30 minuts, or less. Bots made your gear in 1 mounth time that you never loged your maine not even for olympiad, after that mounth you were farming me with top gear. And you call Runy brainles, game killer? Who dide killed game ,we that play for years? or kids and dady pension? that pay bot programs. P.S. radar wont help you all life.
BOTs & Real money traders can be 100% destroyed only if the GMs keep 24/7 watches (6ppl by 4 hrs or 8ppl by 3 hrs). Еverything else is a love song and a fairy tale! ;)

Being an admin on private server for 3 years, I can say that 99.9% bots can be banned without any GM lifting even a single finger.
Just by the means of statistical analysis of the game logs.
But bots are more profitable for NCsoft, than real players.
And to @Yaviey, it is sad to see such a cheerful and creative person assigned the job of a scapegoat. :/

Many people left official server due to BOTs. That's why the good private servers are always populated with 2k-3k players and even more.
Imagine if they come back and start playing regularly.
More people, more customers.
BOTs could be profitable for NCsoft, only if they belong to them. I mean if the BOTs are NCsoft ownership. But even so, players will abandon official servers because they can't farm normally and enjoy the game. How many people complain that they can't finish their quests and earn materials, etc.
Even me!
I am not going to buy NCoins unless GMs remove the BOTs from game. I am not going to pay for buggy quests, not working skills and occupied farm zones.
At the end will remain only BOTs! :)
