I logged in the other night to play a little and I was thinking how the game doesn't even have the same feel to it anymore. Giran is deserted. Aden is jammed for kartia and sell shops now. I think there's more non english speaking players. I see tons of bots. The cash shop all makes this feel exactly like a private server. Free gear and fast levels until awakening.
Am I the only old player who feels like this? I like that there's people playing that's awesome to see,but then you have that other side where it just doesn't have the same personality it used to.

I usually end up soloing and dragging my DC along just so I can get it to 85 and awaken it to Iss. Then I thought well whats the point I'm already extremely bored. Guess I'll wait until next update and see what that brings. It's always been like that in L2 waiting for the next patch.

You should really level up yourself,because of the Tauti's great features will be added,so after it is released you can be ready! :)
I don't even bother to log in anymore as the last time I did I was depressed at what I saw. These servers have turned into a bot paradise with a system and playerbase that is dull and boring. Perhaps it would be more enjoyable if they followed the Korean servers and did more for the players instead of ignoring us and removing/locking posts in the forums.
I loved L2 and everything about it, but now it just "rush to get to 85, grind to 99 and PvP until you get bored and then greif lowbies". I liked the game better when you had to grind and work for your gear, when you were able to get your stuff it felt like you accompished somewthing; now everything is handed to you.
At least on the Korean servers NCsoft treats their players like human beings and make efforts to make them happy. Here it just "start an event, watch players whine about how it's a bot/farm thing and lock the posts that complain".
It's depressing and everybody I used to know who played here have long since quit and swore never to return. Even when Tauti come here I will not come back, it's not worth getting depressed all over again because like Goddess of Destrution NCWest will screw it up.

Well I like events a lot and the letter one is eh because mostly you get the collector's gift buff. I haven't got anything better than that so I just turned to selling my letters,but as I said there's no drive to make adena anymore since it's not really needed. You are right there's no challenge to push for items and gear when it's being given out for free.
And yes most of my friends have quit or are moving on to other games also. They've accomplished what they wanted to and have become bored.

Theres always R+ Grade crafting, TW, Seraph, Eternal, wha****name. Maybe Lowbie crafts are scrapped, but there's still upper lvl crafting to be made.

I do miss some of the things that L2 used to have in the old days...and its kind of sad to see towns that I used to frequent all the time (i.e Dion) deserted. But then again when I came back to the game in January after being away for two years there were many exciting things for me to do and I had to learn things all over again...so I almost felt like a newbie. I could see how people would get bored of the game after a while though but for now I am fine with GoD.

You just noticed that the game is dead. It died years ago. f2p is the final nail in the coffin. The last throw of the dice by ncsoft. The devs that created L2 left a long time ago and the people who replaced them haven't had a clue. the next step will be to sell an addon bot. This game was good when it was merit-based. Then it became bot-based. Now its merely about who wants to spend more $, in effect legitimizing the third market, but its okay because ncsoft gets the $. And for what? I see no point in investing time in a game that is dead to its very core. You are just rewarding failure.
This post wasn't to sit and argue about NCsoft and how old the game is. All you new comers posting don't understand what I'm talking about. I LIKE the game, I ALWAYS will,but the position it is in now is becoming boring. I'm not dumb I KNOW the game has "progressed" in it's own way.
All I was simply talking about is how some of us old players miss the game for what it used to be. Logging in on a Saturday night and rounding up some friends to go grind and try to spoil an item for a couple hours. That is what was fun. Good laughs,conversation and some grind.

Completely agree with this one.=] Ofc l2 can't feel the same after all these changes made, but i can't say that all changes were bad. I like the idea of daily quests and instanced dungeons, because it's rewarding even for casual players. Every daily quest and instance are doable within 30min and rewards are good. So you can make progress in this game even without grind.

I like the daily quests also, I don't hate everything that changed. I like the instance stuff also, means you can get in and do a raid without wondering when its up or not.

the way i see it is, log in do kartia solo/grp , soa daily , spezion/fortuna/istina some pvp if enemys dont bsoe all day and log off thats about 4-5 hours everyday the same the old gameplay feelings come back when u reach 95+ and u go with pt to orbis temple to pew pew mobs like oldschool but untill then u can just hope 95 comes soon oh and most amazing things tauti update brings will be 95+ anyways that being said to the other poster saying get rdy for fun in tauti :P, duno what server u all come from i just think things would be more fun if ppl didnt join up to have all big bullys in 1 clan, if there was 5-8 clans with same strengh then even sieges and tw would be fun for once in a lifetime, but untill something like this happens , ur just gona see how 1 clan rules all castles. olympiad games have been destroyed since it first came out cuz only mass feeded players and ppl with 1010101 grps to have stacked adena to buy and oe their stuff can really enjoy oly as best as it gets, i sing happy happy joy joy when i get to beat a lv 95+ "player" :P with my 91 tank lol

Nah they aren't "bullies" per say. They are people with the excellent gear and a lot of time that want to pvp and be in a power clan. All games have them. Sometimes they cheat, I knew some that didn't cheat at all,but got accused of it,but in fact got what they had the old fashioned way, lots of time and good luck.
Most of the time they cheat. The most dominant clans have always had a core of high level bots with billions and billions of RMT funded gear. After 8 years it amazes me there are still people that don't know how this game is played at the top.

Unless you knew some of the people you can't say they did this. Some of them literally did not cheat..ever. They got lucky and put in the time and or had a pal quit and give them their stuff. I've had people give me their accounts. I've held onto the accounts for awhile in case they changed their minds then I eventually cleaned it out,stored some "just in case" gear for the original owner and sold the rest to upgrade my stuff.
I am kinda bored of the instances. I think most of us hated the l2 grind, but that thing kinda grew up on us. And actually pvp for the spot its what l2 pvp was about, atleast to me. Well Tera is growing on me plus the fact my old clannies formed a clan there. it's like nostalgia high lol. Having a blast for sure.

I like Tera aswell, i died of laughing with that community, it has an extremely good atmosphere.
Indeed, I love watching the chat and getting into groups is pretty easy so that I like as well. NOt like in L2 where you can shout for days and not get any invites. :D
The forum community is more hostile,but I figure that's kids who spend more time flaming than playing. I dunno I'm having a blast. I'm still learning stuff,but that's part of the fun.
to return to L2 is a weird experience! i first started during closed beta and stayed for 2 years. i quit when i was in my karmian set, early after the second class transfer. (dont know what lvl those happen anymore ><) ive returned to L2 2 days ago! and wow........... nothing is the same! im lvl 25 already and i got a free top D grade weapon for free... though its bound and i prolly cant sell it? it still feels odd...... like someone mentioned; almost like a private server! its even more crowded then i remember L2 to be during open beta..... so many newbie chars running around! why is that?

American players were so few,you couldnt even find them inside most usa servers.
I was ''born'' in Devianne and the only usa pvp clan (without heros) had like 15 american people inside and some greeks too.I remember also 2-3 small pve american clans with like 6-7 american players each.When chinese begun to leave from L2,a few american people setup their RMT buisness in Deviane,if old players read forum they must remember them.Check the heros in any server(best equip) and you could see they were always russians/some greeks and then a few people from different countrys.The big clans were always russians/europeans and many of them greeks.Those players learned about L2 in prive servers of their country and came to rule in officiels. Why L2 failed so hard to attract usa players,Nscoft should know better.
Teon was the biggest server of all and was ruled from day one untill the end by russian clans/players.Most of the other servers also were ruled by russian clans.The majority of russian players left when innova was made to make it again in new servers,still enough of them stayed and are here untill now.For sure,from all countrys,the russians spent the biggest cash into L2.

Seriously, SHUT UP about the international players and private server players already. They can play like the rest of us, GET OVER IT. This topic is not about them or to sit and prattle back and forth over it. NcSoft let the game be free and it's drastically changed to the point where it's not like the exclusive club it was.
No, it doesn't feel the same. But that's a common phrase said more times over the years than I can remember. I forget how long I've been playing this game, but the current iteration of L2 feels like ...like...like someone took a Shelby Cobra, pulled out it's guts, it's soul, everything about it that made it one mean bad *** car, and left just the shell and a plastic key fob. Enjoy your ride, mate. :(
Just do what me and a few close friends do guys...make some newbs, get away fron the same old grind day in and day out...and dont be in a hurry to lvl up these toons, cuz playing lowbies again is still rather fun...like the old days ;)

Poor babys... go find another game if what you like to do is killing the same ******ed mob a millon times to raise 1 lvl or to get 1 recipe... those times are finished. This game is no longer a chiness farmers game, you dont need to log walker 24/7 nor giving your real life away to keep up anymore.

Well, I am new to the game. Three days here, got to like lvl 22 or somethng like that. A game will not survive if the older player base forgets that new comers to the game, DO need help from you near-or-at level cap!
I joined Bartz simply due to it matching my time zone. Since when is Bartz a "fail server for EUA" when clearly, the time zone is -5 GMT which means Eastern Standard Time zone? Wow. It honestly would be nice, if the older existing player base would like....you know.......help SAVE this awesome game?! All of you older players CAN help achieve the goal of a revitalized Lineage 2, IF you put some effort into it! To say you have a bankroll, to say you are level 85 +, and then to be complacent and sit on your hands and then espouse, "The game is dead/dying and we cant do a thing about it!" is one serious copout.

A lot of people point out the obvious and some are not very helpful even tho they are trying to show the correct way. If one doesn't like such, simply move on without complicating it. If such bad atitude is carried ingame, one won't have much friends there, and it is a must to have trusted people on our side if you wanna have fun and survive the big sharks.

The old l2 is dead now l2 pretend to be more friendly and not so "hardcore" somethink like the game "wow"
im agree in that but since interlude they are adding / changing a lot of thinks without sense thats not the way.
i brief im agree with a l2 with more features, more friendly.. (not 5 years to get 80), were quest are important to exp, team game not were a guy walk with a BOTS party (like in L2 c2-c7) In the past they "allow" Bots because that means more $subscriptions$$ .....
Actual l2 not allow Bots the problem is that they fixed the problems so latter and added so much **** i suppose only to keep users playing

there is a ton to do at level 85-90, Kartia, Repti, Cokra, Harnak. Swamplands and Fairy for duo or solo and a few other quests in between. You can kill raid in h1-h3 to shake things up as well.
All of the other content can be done by everyone as well now. So tbh if you do instances all day your missing out on the rest of the game =P.
I think those daily instance should become once a week instances, everyone camps them.

The forum staff would say diferently depending on how you word things, but generally speaking your mind earns you infractions. I got 2 infraction today worth a total of 4 points, yippie! If NC would police the game like they police the forums maybe players would not complain so much about things. :D
Could earn me another infraction but meh, does not bother me.

I actually did receive a warning today for saying someone was trolling me. Which is w/e. But its amazing how Sace is basically the only person patrolling and he does his job well. Imagine if they had just 1 gm in game

It's not hard to earn warnings and infraction points in these fourms. Sace, who is a she, patrol the forums along with Juji. GM's in game are just a myth, but having a few would be nice. :D
